Leicester: the Great Central and the Coalville Line - 30 May 1963
Leicester: London Road Station - 31 May 1963
Two days later I found a new location, where the Midland Railway line to Coalville and Burton from Knighton Junction crossed the Great Central main line, south of Leicester Central Station. This was geographically close to my last location.
By now the Great Central was part of the London Midland Region, with no hint from the engines I saw of its former Eastern Region, LNER and GCR heritage.
The next morning saw me in the well known location just north of Leicester London Road station, overlooking the lines north and the engine shed. Why didn’t I return?
You can see some light leakage on some of these images – I must have reused the film cassette once too often.
