Ickenham and Ravenglass – August 1962
One photograph of the GWR line from Birmingham to Paddington, taken on a visit to my aunt, uncle and cousin’s house in Ickenham, and then in late August a few photos taken around Ravenglass on a two week walking trip around the Lake District, before I left London for Leicester University.

12:02 GWR King 4-6-0 No 6015 'King Richard III' heads a Birmingham express towards Paddington near Ickenham on 5 August 1962.
13:30 'River Irt' at Ravenglass on 27 August 1962.
13:50 LMSR Jinty 0-6-0T No 47564 runs south towards Ravenglass on the Cumbrian coast on 27 August 1962.
14:12 LMSR Black Five 4-6-0 No 45398 drifts through Ravenglass with a local passenger train on 27 August 1962.
14:35 LMSR Fairburn Class 4 2-6-4T No 42119 runs south towards Ravenglass on the Cumbrian coast on 27 August 1962.
15:35 LMSR unrebuilt Patriot 4-6-0 No 45550 crosses the Esk Viaduct at Ravenglass heading an eastbound freight
of engineer's wagons and chemical hoppers on 27 August 1962. This was probably one of the last, or the last, working of 45550.
