My Local At Wood Street, Walthamstow – 24 April 1960
Football Specials Leaving Wembley – 30 April 1960
Clapham Junction – 3 May 1960
Stratford, Kings Cross and St Pancras – 7 May 1960
Just one photo on the next day from a station I usually passed through, and then another shed bunking day a week later which took in Old Oak Common – no photos - Willesden and Neasden.
After going round Neasden, which never took long, we realised specials were leaving Wembley after a Schoolboy Football International between England and Scotland. I took four shots in 50 minutes from what look like pretty precarious locations – a Castle, a Schools, a B1 and another Schools.
A few days later, a couple of photos at Clapham Junction and then, a week later, three photos from three different stations – Stratford, Kings Cross and St Pancras.

13:30 My local line for the first 19 years of my life - Wood Street, Walthamstow, with LNER N7/3 0-6-2T No 69707 heading for Liverpool Street on 24 April 1960 shortly before the electrics took over. The engine shed is just out of shot to the left, which accounts for the engine crew in the foreground.

17:10 Leaving Wembley and passing Neasden on 30 April 1960, GWR Castle 4-6-0 No 5029 'Nunney Castle' heads
the first of four specials full of football fans.
17:15 Five minutes later on 30 April 1960, and another football special passes Neasden hauled by SR Schools 4-4-0 No 30921 'Shrewsbury'.
17:40 After a wait of 25 minutes on 30 April 1960, LNER B1 4-6-0 No 61361 heads another football special away from Wembley.
18:00 And after another 20 minutes on 30 April 1960, another SR Schools 4-4-0 No 30922 'Marlborough' passes Neasden
with a Wembley football special.
13:25 SR Lord Nelson 4-6-0 No 30864 'Sir Martin Frobisher' heads a down express from Waterloo through Clapham Junction on 3 May 1960.
13:35 LSWR M7 Class 0-4-4T No 30320 gets a train of empty stock moving at Clapham Junction on 3 May 1960.
9:10 LMSR Jinty 0-6-0T No 47642 heads a down freight through Stratford on 7 May 1960.
