An Afternoon at Potters Bar – 13:12 to 16:50 on 12 March 1960
A couple of weeks later I was back at Potters Bar, in my new place on the down side embankment north of the station.
I assume this was a Saturday, after I had finished my milk round shift on an electric milk float around my local estate. It looks like I had forsaken the half mile walk, bus trip to New Barnet and train to Potters Bar, in favour of the 242 bus which stopped close to my house and took me to Potters Bar by way of Waltham Abbey and Waltham Cross.
The photos are mainly of LNER Pacifics, with a WD hauled freight, V2, B1, K3 and 9F, one diesel hauled train, and an incidental view of a Craven DMU local. I promised you I’d include everything I took, so these are very much the good, the bad and the ugly. Don’t expect perfection – just a record of the afternoon, with some not bad photos among the others.
