Swindon and beyond – 7 May 1961
An organised trip by coach on 7 May 1961, with permits and everything, took me first to Swindon shed and Swindon Works, and then on to Cheltenham, Gloucester, Ross on Wye, Hereford, Leominster, Worcester shed and Works, Evesham and Honeybourne.
I’ve managed to decipher and transcribe my notes of this trip, so along with the photos I took you will get a flavour of what it was like by looking at the lists of engines by class – the photos follow the lists.
